Introduction
This policy outlines USMICRO’s commitment to upholding human rights and sets out our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
USMICRO is a global technology services and solutions company, enabling enterprises across North America, Europe, APAC, and India to build digital capabilities through engineering, cloud, AI, and transformation services. Headquartered in Bangalore, with teams operating across multiple geographies, we are committed to conducting business ethically, transparently, and responsibly.
We have zero tolerance for slavery and human trafficking in any part of our operations or supply chains. Our internal policies, practices, and contractual frameworks ensure that all individuals working with or for USMICRO are treated fairly, have the right to work, and operate in an environment built on integrity and respect.
Our principles of fair treatment and equal opportunity apply not only to our employees but also to our relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors, shareholders, and partners.
1. Policy Statement
1.1 Modern slavery is a serious violation of fundamental human rights. It includes slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking — all of which involve depriving individuals of their liberty for personal or commercial exploitation.
USMICRO is committed to:
- Acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships.
- Implementing and enforcing robust systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not present in our business or supply chains.
1.2 We are committed to maintaining transparency throughout our supply chains in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We expect the same high standards from all our contractors, suppliers, and partners. As part of our contracting processes, we include explicit prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory, or trafficked labour, and require suppliers to hold their own supply chains to equivalent standards.
1.3 This policy applies to all individuals working for or on behalf of USMICRO, including employees, directors, officers, agency workers, contractors, consultants, interns, business partners, and third-party representatives.
1.4 This policy does not form part of any employee’s contract of employment and may be amended at any time.
2. Responsibility for the Policy
2.1 The Board of Directors holds overall responsibility for ensuring this policy complies with legal and ethical standards, and that everyone under USMICRO’s control adheres to it.
2.2 The Group HR Director (or equivalent) has day-to-day responsibility for implementing, monitoring, and auditing this policy and ensuring its effectiveness.
2.3 All managers and leaders are responsible for ensuring their teams understand and comply with this policy. They must provide appropriate and regular training on modern slavery risks and practices.
2.4 Suggestions for improvement or queries related to this policy should be directed to the Group HR Director.
3. Compliance with the Policy
3.1 All individuals working with or for USMICRO must read, understand, and comply with this policy.
3.2 Preventing, identifying, and reporting modern slavery is a shared responsibility. Everyone must avoid activities that could lead to, or be perceived as, a breach of this policy.
3.3 Any concerns, suspicions, or potential conflicts with this policy must be reported immediately to the Group HR Director.
3.4 Concerns can relate to any part of USMICRO’s business or its multi-tiered supply chains.
3.5 If you are unsure whether a particular situation constitutes modern slavery, raise it promptly with the Group HR Director.
3.6 USMICRO encourages openness and good faith reporting. No individual will face detrimental treatment for reporting a genuine concern, even if it proves unfounded. Detrimental treatment includes dismissal, disciplinary action, or other retaliatory measures. Employees who believe they have suffered such treatment should report it to HR and, if unresolved, escalate through the Grievance Procedure.
4. Communication and Awareness
4.1 Training on this policy and on modern slavery risks forms part of the induction process for all new employees and will be reinforced periodically.
4.2 USMICRO’s commitment to preventing modern slavery is communicated clearly to all suppliers, contractors, and business partners at the beginning of our relationship and reiterated as appropriate.
5. Breaches of this Policy
5.1 Any employee found to be in breach of this policy may face disciplinary action, including termination of employment for misconduct or gross misconduct.
5.2 USMICRO may terminate relationships with third parties who fail to comply with this policy or our ethical standards.
6. Review
This policy will be reviewed annually, or as required, to ensure continued alignment with legal obligations and best practices in combating modern slavery and human trafficking.
USMICRO is committed to conducting business with respect for human rights, transparency, and ethical integrity — across all operations, markets, and partnerships.
